OUR HISTORY

The story of Cotton Bacon and Wick N Vape begins back in 2014, when mech mods and drippers were the newest trend in vaping. Nick Richards, owner of Matrix Vapor in Meridian, Idaho, spent most days at his shop building coils and drilling out RDAs for his customers. Back then the go-to wicking material was cotton balls from the local pharmacy, and while it wasn’t ideal, it was the norm. Nick had a customer, Sean, who started coming into his shop with these strange strips of wavy cotton that were much easier to work with and tasted better than cotton balls. Sean revealed to Nick that he boiled his cotton balls, unrolled them, and laid them out flat to dry. Nick started purchasing bags of Sean’s cotton and offering it to his customers in their builds. They joked that it looked like bacon because of the wavy nature of how it dried, and one day when Sean was delivering a fresh supply he called out “Here’s your bacon!” The name stuck, and from then on all Nick’s customers asked for the “Cotton Bacon” in their builds. The demand for Cotton Bacon increased so much that Sean couldn’t keep up, and with no other cotton alternative on the market for vaping, the two decided to launch a business together.

Sean approached a variety of cotton manufacturers until he found the right fit, and they met with the company’s scientists and engineers to lay the ground work for a product designed exclusively for vaping. Their first product, Original Cotton Bacon, was a huge hit. There was only one problem… the taste. Nick and Sean worked tirelessly with the scientists and engineers to create a solution - at one point even breaking the factory’s processing machine - but finally they were able to develop a proprietary purification and refining process that left the cotton completely tasteless. This was Cotton Bacon Version 2.

The incredible success and growth of Cotton Bacon caused Wick N Vape to have to move locations several times in just a few years, upgrading each time. Wick N Vape just recently moved into our new 17,000 sq. ft. facility that will finally be able to sustain our growth… for now! Our new location includes a state-of-the-art clean packaging and manufacturing room, a sales floor, and an efficient shipping and receiving warehouse.

But that’s not the end of this story… When vaping trends started changing again, and RDTAs and squonking began to spread, the team got together to develop a product with an even faster absorption rate, that would be ideal for these emerging devices. After testing countless different cotton fibers we finally found one that had the right thickness, and absorbed liquid 33% faster than our Version 2 product. We applied our same purification process to this new fiber and launched it in 2018 as Cotton Bacon PRIME.

We at Wick N Vape promise to always be looking forward and bringing the highest quality products to market, with our customers’ satisfaction being our number one goal. We refuse to settle for “good enough” and always strive to be the best.
